Main Difference
– Internal vs External Combustion Engine
Internal and external
combustion engines are two types of heat engines: they convert thermal
energy into mechanical energy. The main difference between
internal and external combustion engine is that in internal combustion
engines, the working fluid burns inside the cylinder, whereas in
external combustion engines, combustion takes place outside the cylinder and
heat is then transferred to the working fluid.
What is Automobile Engine
According to
Piston There are three types
1) Rotary Piston
2)
Free Piston
3)
Reciprocating Piston. (Now Maximum engine have Reciprocating Piston)
Reciprocating Piston: A reciprocating engine, also
often known as a piston engine,
is typically a heat engine (although there are also pneumatic and
hydraulic reciprocating
engines) that uses one or more reciprocating pistons to convert pressure into a rotating
motion. This article describes the common features of all types.
There are two types of Reciprocating Engine 1. Petrol
engine and 2. Diesel engine. (two stroke and four stroke)
Four stroke engine
operation
1 Suction
stroke, Compression stroke, Power stroke,Exhaust stroke.
