ENGINE WATER COOLING SYSTEMS:
According to the method of rejection of heat absorbed by water in the cylinder jackets, there are two types of water-cooling systems:
• Open type cooling system
• Closed type cooling system
Open type Water cooling System:
There are two variations in this system- either the hot water from the water jackets is allowed to go waste or is re-circulated after cooling in spray or cooling tower.
The closed system has the advantage that pure or chemically treated water can be used in the primary circuit and there is no problem of scale deposits in the water jackets.
