Classification of Engine with Cylinder

Classification of engine with cylinder:-

Arrangement: 1) Opposed type, 2) Horizontal type,3) Radial type,4) Inline type,5) V type

1) Opposed type:

An opposed-piston engine is a reciprocating internal combustion engine in which each cylinder has a piston at both ends, and no cylinder head. This engine have two carburetor. That's why today this type engine not use.

2) Horizontal type:

A flat engine is an internal combustion engine with horizontally-opposed cylinders. ... Horizontal inline engines are quite common in industrial applications such as underfloor mounting for buses.

3) Radial type:

The radial engine is a reciprocating type internal combustion engine configuration in which the cylinders "radiate" outward from a central crankcase like the spokes of a wheel. ... The radial configuration was very commonly used for aircraft engines before gas turbine engines became predominant.

4) Inline Engine:

The straight or inline engine is an internal-combustion engine with all cylinders aligned in one row and having no offset.

5) V type Engine:

V engine, or Vee engine is a common configuration for an internal combustion engine. The cylinders and pistons are aligned, in two separate planes or 'banks', so that they appear to be in a "V" when viewed along the axis of the crankshaft.
